VEHICLES SHOPPING TOOLS WHY SUBARU SUBARU LIFE OWNERS

Getting Started

Modifying your Subaru can open a world of possibilities. New technologies make the benefits of modification available to more people than ever before.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Association (www.NHTSA.gov) regulates the manufacture of automotive adaptive equipment and modified vehicles used by persons with disabilities. You can get a copy of Adapting Motor Vehicles for People with Disabilities from NHTSA either online or by calling 888-327-4236.

Here is an overview of the process set forth by NHTSA:

  1. Investigate cost saving opportunities & licensing requirements
  2. Evaluate your needs
  3. Select the right vehicle
  4. Choose a qualified dealer to modify your vehicle
  5. Obtain training on the use of new equipment
  6. Maintain your vehicle
